JAS Certification

Our matcha meets the highest standard and is validated by the prestigious Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) Certification. Every batch of Juji Matcha meets these rigorous standards, free from harmful substances and produced with the utmost care, ensuring unparalleled quality and sustainability.

No Heavy Metals

Some matcha products may contain harmful heavy metals like lead or arsenic, absorbed from the soil where the tea plants are grown. Without rigorous testing and quality control, these contaminants can end up in the final product.

No Pesticides or Herbicides

Conventional matcha farming often involves the use of chemical pesticides and herbicides to protect crops from pests and weeds. These chemicals can linger on the tea leaves and ultimately be ingested by consumers.

Organic

Non-organic matcha lacks the certification that ensures it is free from synthetic fertilisers, pesticides, and GMOs. Juji Matcha, is grown using natural methods that protect both the environment and consumer health.

Harvest Methods

Juji Matcha is made from the youngest, tenderest leaves, carefully selected to ensure the best flavour and nutritional profile. Mass-produced matcha might use machine harvesting, which can include older, tougher leaves, resulting in a bitter taste and overall lower quality.

Shading

Juji Matcha is grown under shade for several weeks before harvest. This shading process boosts chlorophyll levels and enhances the production of L-theanine, giving the matcha its vibrant green colour and smooth, umami-rich flavour. Inferior brands might skip or shorten this shading process, leading to a less desirable product.
